possible through culture camps, language workshops and internships, Elder
potlucks, and cultural events as well as the integration of cultural elements

The Aleutian Pribilof Islands
Association, Inc. (APIA) is the federally recognized, 501 (c)(3) non-profit
tribal organization of the Unangax̂ (Aleut) people of Alaska. The 1976 merger of two
predecessor organizations - the Aleut League, and the Aleutian Planning
Commission - led to its formation. Our focus is to promote the overall
economic, social, and cultural development of our beneficiaries, and to provide
the best health care and social services possible for the Unangax̂ people and all
APIA's Mission Statement: To provide self-sufficiency and independence of the Unangax̂ people by advocacy, training, technical assistance, and economic enhancement; To assist in meeting the health, safety, and well-being of each Unangax̂ community; To promote, strengthen, and ensure the unity of the Unangax̂; and, To strengthen and preserve the Unangax̂ cultural heritage.
